Valais-based Pacrim Group has taken a major strategic step in the Swiss life-science landscape by acquiring a controlling majority of Medropharm AG, a pioneer in pharmaceutical-grade cannabis. Announced on 21 October 2025, the transaction positions Pacrim — together with its subsidiary Alponics SA — as Switzerland’s only fully integrated medicinal cannabis enterprise, spanning the entire value chain from plant genetics to patient-ready products.
With this acquisition, Pacrim now brings together Bio-Suisse and GACP cultivation, Swissmedic-licensed GMP processing, narcotic-regulated production capabilities and direct pharmacy distribution under a single umbrella.
The leadership teams from both companies highlight the significance of this alignment: “Joining forces allows us to deliver a truly integrated Swiss medicinal flower solution — combining Bio-Suisse certification, controlled-substance licensing and Swiss GMP standards.”
Medropharm, long recognized as a Swiss trailblazer, brings extensive pharmaceutical credentials: Swissmedic GMP/GDP licensing, controlled-substance authorization, medical logistics, extraction and distillation capabilities, and — most importantly — batch release authorization, granting direct access to Swiss pharmacies without intermediaries.
Alponics strengthens this foundation with its cultivation and compliance credentials, including Bio-Suisse certification, GACP adherence, ISO 9001:2015 standards, and licensing for high-THC medicinal production. Together, the companies ensure a seamless “plant-to-pharmacy” pathway entirely regulated within Switzerland.
With integration now complete, Pacrim and Medropharm are preparing to scale internationally, targeting regulated markets such as Germany, the UK and Australia. The group will leverage Medropharm’s established FLOWERS and SEEDS product lines while developing next-generation genetics and formulations focused on therapeutic precision and compliance-first design.
