Led by Isa Dupont, a nurse, and Gaspard Chevassus, an engineer, the StudentsPool project is reinventing ad hoc recruitment and connecting students with healthcare institutions to offer assignments serving patients. The project, selected among 5 finalists, received a CHF 25,000 support.
The constant turnover of temporary staff undermines the quality of care. Faced with this major challenge, StudentsPool is reinventing temporary recruitment in the healthcare, social services and early childhood sectors. Its platform connects institutions with motivated and trained students in just a few clicks, offering an agile solution to stabilise teams, anticipate replacement needs and improve the experience of both patients and professionals.
StudentsPool was selected from among five finalists who, at the beginning of the summer, each received £5,000 to develop a prototype. At the ceremony held in Lausanne, the finalists presented the progress made since their selection last June, after being chosen from among more than a hundred applications.
“With StudentsPool, students have access to assignments that are relevant to their training, gain practical experience and develop their professional network for their future careers,” explains Isa Dupont, who adds, “And for patients, it’s very beneficial because they have around them future qualified and committed professionals who provide solid support for replacements and can commit to flexible and long-term work in institutions.”
Thierry Mauvernay, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Debiopharm, states, “In 10 years, more than 1,000 ideas, including 50 that have been funded and more than 3,000 people involved, is a wonderful collective contribution to the quality of life of patients.”
For Benoît Dubuis, President of the Inartis Foundation, “the commitment of the Inartis Foundation and its partners to such a challenge is a page open to the future of healthcare, in which quality of life will be essential.”
