Apply before 14 June 2026 for the Age Innovation Prize of the Institute for Ageing Research IAF in partnership with the Age-Stiftung.
This Switzerland-wide competition promotes innovative ideas that deal with the challenges of age(ing). It honours innovative technological (AgeTech) and social projects that promote the independence, social inclusion, quality of life and health of older people.
Demographic change is accelerating. New solutions are needed to support older adults in living socially connected, independent and healthy lives. Whether through neighbourhood initiatives, intergenerational activities, community‑building concepts, movement programmes, wearable health technologies, smart-home systems or digital tools that foster participation – the opportunities for innovation in ageing are vast.
With the Age Innovation Prize, the IAF Institute for Ageing Research, in partnership with the Age-Foundation and together with sponsors such as Margerite, promotes innovative and passionate ideas that can sustainably change and improve the lives of older people with their projects. In addition to technological innovations, social innovations will also be specifically promoted from 2026 onwards. These include solutions that enable new forms of coexistence, support, and participation for older people.
The innovation project (a project idea, innovative project, start-up, or product) must address at least one urgent age-related need, e.g., in the areas of independence, social inclusion, quality of life, or health. Applicants explain in their answers and documentation how their innovation project addresses the selected area.
