Bruker expands its collaboration with Atinary and makes a minority investment

Bruker Corporation (NASDAQ:BRKR) announced that it is expanding its strategic collaboration with Atinary Technologies Inc., and acquiring a minority stake in the Lausanne-based company. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, according to the press release.

This collaboration aims to integrate Chemspeed’s laboratory automation platforms, Bruker’s analytical instruments and SciY’s scientific software into Atinary’s SDLabs platform. The SDLabs platform uses artificial intelligence agents and machine learning to design experiments and automate closed-loop workflows for research and development.

Atinary and Chemspeed have set up a joint demonstration laboratory at Chemspeed’s headquarters, located near Basel, Switzerland. Atinary’s autonomous laboratory in Boston opened its doors in early 2026 and incorporates Chemspeed robotic equipment as well as Bruker benchtop NMR instruments, with a focus on small-molecule synthesis and catalysis in the field of pharmaceutical R&D.

“Atinary’s mission is to augment human capabilities through AI and robotics, in order to exponentially accelerate scientific discovery and tackle major global challenges,” said Dr Hermann Tribukait, co-founder and CEO of Atinary Technologies.

Bernd Gleixner, president of Bruker’s Chemspeed division, said that this investment advances Bruker’s goal of combining analytical technologies with laboratory automation, scientific software and AI-guided experimentation.
