The InnoJura Accelerator has welcomed its first cohort. The programme was launched by Basel Area Business & Innovation, with support from Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area, to help start-ups and scale-ups grow their businesses.

The jury selected ten projects, and six of them have links to the life sciences. They began the programme in July 2026 at the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area site in the Jura. The projects cover a wide range of fields: industrial intelligence platforms, AI coaching tools, metabolic copilots for endurance athletes, micrometric metal 3D printers and advanced neuro-endovascular interventions.

ÀNARA (AIMA Innovation): a decision-making copilot for endurance athletes

Nurse and athlete Victor Baute noticed a paradox in 2021: we collect more and more data about our bodies, yet our decisions still rely mostly on gut feeling, experience or a fixed training plan. With Mike Andres, he is now developing ÀNARA. The app combines a user’s activity, recovery, sleep, nutrition and how they feel. It learns how each person works and recommends whether to push, adapt or recover, with a simple explanation. It is meant as a decision aid, not just another dashboard.
Next step: user testing. The team is looking for endurance athletes and coaches, as well as sports physiology partners and clubs to strengthen field and scientific validation.

AXXIOS: passive vibration control for industry, sport and medtech

AXXIOS builds on long experience with materials, vibrations and frequencies. Its technology changes how materials respond to frequencies so that they behave better under stress. It comes either as self-contained modules that can be attached to existing structures or as a powder built into materials and components. Because it needs no power supply or sensors, it can improve comfort, performance and durability in machinery, sports equipment, transport and medtech.
Next step: industrial partners for pilot projects, mainly in industry and sport, to validate the technology and move to series production. External scientific validation will also help refine the strategy.

Mikram: metal 3D printing at micrometre resolution

Mikram is a spin-off of AdTime SA. It is co-developing and industrialising a compact metal 3D printer with micrometre resolution, aimed at watchmaking, medtech and aerospace. Today’s metal printers are often not precise enough, so parts need long and costly finishing work, and micro-components are often out of reach. The project is backed by Innosuisse and a consortium of academic and industrial partners covering the whole value chain.
Next step: closing the funding round to build and test the prototype, then identifying the applications where the technology adds the most value, with feedback from end users.

Neurobotix: robotic navigation for brain catheters

Neurobotix tackles an unmet need in neuroradiology: steering microcatheters through complex brain blood vessels with more precision and control. It began in 2020 as a collaboration between research and engineering and became a company project in 2025. Its robotic platform combines AI, a digital twin and magnetic control. The aim is to rely less on the operator’s manual skill, make procedures more precise and repeatable, reach difficult anatomy and allow remote control.
Next step: hospital partners for preclinical testing, access to vascular data and images, and funding for these validation steps.

Pentacore: a 3D digital twin of the human body

Pentacore’s founders want to make knowledge of human anatomy accessible to everyone. Their product, Orbisense, is a digital adviser for sports and health professionals. It replaces slow manual body measurements with instant, reliable data from a high-precision 3D digital twin, so users can track changes in their body and posture. The company chose the canton of Jura for its strong medtech ecosystem and its universities.
Next step: a pilot phase in the Jura. Pentacore is looking for sports centres, physiotherapy practices and nutrition experts in the region.

Poerava: an AI lean coach on the factory floor

Poerava grew out of its founders’ work leading production teams and lean programmes in the pharmaceutical industry. They saw the same pattern everywhere: the methods have been known for decades, but there is roughly one operational excellence expert for every hundred employees. Teams are trained once and then left alone with a spreadsheet. Poerava puts an AI-powered lean coach into teams’ daily work. It guides each person through problem-solving at their own level and ends with a concrete deliverable, so the gains last.
Next step: first pilot sites in pharma, medtech or precision manufacturing, where the platform will be finalised on site with the teams who will use it.
