The Swiss healthcare sector is currently experiencing a critical workforce shortage, with approximately 11,000 full-time positions left unfilled in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. This growing issue puts immense strain on existing teams, leading to longer working hours, increased burnout, and declining patient care quality.
Carewell’s mission is to revolutionize healthcare staffing by helping institutions manage internal and external replacements more efficiently. Using an AI-powered matching algorithm, the platform seamlessly connects healthcare facilities with qualified professionals looking for short-term and flexible work. By doing so, Carewell not only addresses staffing needs but also empowers healthcare workers to achieve a better work-life balance.
Currently, Carewell is running pilot projects with key institutions in Vaud and Geneva, including EHC, La Lignière, GHOL, and Butini. This strong market demand and early validation highlight the platform’s potential. The company aims to tap into the CHF 800 million short-term healthcare recruitment market and establish itself as the leading staffing solution for healthcare institutions.
The CHF 150,000 funding from Venture Kick will fuel Carewell’s growth by expanding operations, enhancing platform automation, and optimizing its AI-driven matching system. Additionally, this investment will support a pilot project in German-speaking Switzerland, laying the foundation for national expansion.
