The Swiss Medtech Award was presented on 10 June 2026 in Bern during the Swiss Medtech Day. Swiss Health Valley company Symbios Orthopédie SA was selected as a finalist. The Prize, worth CHF 50,000, went to Basel-based company Medartis. Positrigo AG, based in Zurich, was also in the final mix.



Symbios Orthopédie SA is a family-run company that exemplifies patient-specific orthopaedic solutions «Made in Switzerland». Based in Yverdon-les-Bains, the company specialises in individualised hip and knee implants and combines clinical precision with industrial excellence. Symbios develops tailor-made solutions for each patient – contributing to a higher quality of life, as well as optimised efficiency for hospitals and the healthcare system. The company has recently invested in a new, technologically specialised production facility to manufacture patient-specific implants under controlled conditions.

The Swiss Medtech Award finally went to Medartis. The Basel-based company develops high-precision implant solutions for the surgical treatment of bone fractures and joint replacements. The company combines technological innovation with a consistent international growth strategy – helping to strengthen Switzerland’s position as a hub for medical technology in the long term. Today, Medartis implants are available in over 50 countries, and the Basel-based company employs 1,400 people worldwide.
