Timeline (Amazentis SA), the Lausanne-Based life-sciences company behind the postbiotic ingredient Urolithin A and its branded form Mitopure®, has secured a major legal victory in the United States. On July 15, 2026, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts permanently banned 19 online sellers from marketing or selling fraudulent Urolithin A products and ordered them to pay Timeline more than $5.3 million in damages.

The ruling, issued by Judge Myong J. Joun in Amazentis SA et al. v. The Partnerships and Unincorporated Associations Identified on Schedule “A,” followed a lawsuit Timeline and its U.S. subsidiary, Timeline Longevity, Inc., filed in October 2025 against 30 defendants operating a network of online storefronts and drop-ship stores. Independent laboratory testing commissioned by Timeline found that products sold under these brands contained no detectable Urolithin A, or only a fraction of the amount advertised. Some sellers also used Timeline’s Mitopure® trademark without authorization and falsely claimed their products were made in the USA, third-party tested, and vegan.

While several defendants reached earlier settlements, the 19 that failed to respond to the complaint were hit with default judgment. The court permanently enjoined them from importing, marketing, or selling any product represented as containing Urolithin A, and awarded damages ranging from $500 to over $2.7 million per defendant — with some awards tripled as “enhanced damages” for the severity of the fraud.

“We are very pleased with the Court’s order that protects consumers and innovators like Timeline from bad actors who sell fraudulent products and misappropriate intellectual property,” said Chris Rinsch, PhD, Co-Founder and President of Timeline. “Timeline has invested over 18 years and more than $50 million USD building the clinical evidence for our proprietary Mitopure® Urolithin A. Timeline will continue to vigilantly protect the integrity of the market.”

The case is part of the Swiss Health Valley company broader global enforcement effort to combat counterfeit and mislabeled Urolithin A products and protect the clinical research underpinning the market it pioneered. Timeline, backed by investors including Nestlé Health Science and L’Oréal, is headquartered in Lausanne and markets its Mitopure®-based supplements and skin health products worldwide.
