The Wyss Center for Bio and Neuro Engineering announced a strategic partnership with BrainScape Medical, a newly formed company specializing in long-term brain monitoring and neurostimulation. This collaboration marks a major step forward in translating innovative neurotechnologies into real clinical solutions.

The Wyss Center  in Geneva has granted BrainScape Medical an exclusive license for Epios®, a state-of-the-art platform designed for continuous, long-term monitoring of brain activity. Epios® offers a minimally invasive solution for the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders, with early human trials showing promising results.

Transforming neurological care with Epios®

Epios® provides full scalp EEG monitoring using minimally invasive electrodes, enabling continuous recording of brain activity. This is essential for managing conditions such as epilepsy and dementia. Uniquely, the system integrates both monitoring and neuromodulation, enabling real-time therapeutic interventions.
Dr Erwin Böttinger, Director of the Wyss Center, comments: “We are delighted to see Epios® progressing towards clinical application. Our partnership with BrainScape Medical reflects our commitment to promoting impactful neurotechnologies that have an impact on the market and directly benefit patients.”

Laura Johnson, CEO of BrainScape Medical, adds: “Epios® represents a significant advance in neurotechnology. Our goal is to bring this innovative solution to patients worldwide, improving their experience of managing and living with their neurological disorder through better diagnosis and treatment”.
