Dexterous Endoscopes and Precisia Care receive support from FIT

The Foundation for Technological Innovation (FIT) announces its support for two new Vaud-based start-ups. Dexterous Endoscopes has secured a CHF 100,000 Tech Seed loan for its endoscope, which can switch from a flexible to a rigid state during the same procedure. Precisia Care has also received a CHF 100,000 Tech Seed loan for its hospital data analysis platform, designed to anticipate patient needs and staff workload.
Dexterous Endoscopes: an endoscope that changes rigidity mid-procedure
In minimally invasive surgery, doctors insert a camera and instruments through small incisions. Today, they must choose between two types of endoscope: rigid models, which are precise but unable to reach hard-to-access areas, and flexible models, which can navigate anywhere but bend as soon as force is required. Surgeons are consequently forced to switch instruments mid-operation, or even abandon the minimally invasive approach altogether.
Dexterous Endoscopes is developing a unique endoscope that combines both properties. The device moves in flexible mode to reach the target area, then stiffens at the push of a button to allow precise intervention. Dexterous Endoscope also got this year the BIND – BioInnovation Day Best Startup Award 2026.
The start-up has raised over one million francs in funding and completed seven rounds of preclinical trials on a working prototype. With the CHF 100,000 Tech Seed loan awarded by FIT, Dexterous Endoscopes will be able to continue its preclinical trials and prepare the regulatory and industrialisation stages for its device.
Precisia Care: anticipating patient needs from hospital data
In hospitals, a significant amount of patient information remains difficult to use: it is scattered across multiple systems and recorded as free-text notes by healthcare staff. Teams lack the tools to anticipate how a patient’s condition will evolve and to allocate workload accordingly.
Designed by specialists from the hospital and healthcare sector, Precisia Care’s platform analyses this data to generate predictive insights: workload assessment for care teams, patient safety alerts, and support for care organisation. It is already deployed in leading Swiss hospitals.
The CHF 100,000 Tech Seed loan awarded by FIT completes the budget needed to bring this project to completion and validate the ongoing pilot deployments at the Ensemble Hospitalier de la Côte (EHC) and the Réseau Hospitalier Neuchâtelois (RHNe).
