250 key players of the Swiss Health Valley gathered at Campus Biotech Geneva on 1 April 2025 for the 10th edition of BIND-BioInnovation Day. 29 groundbreaking life sciences projects developed in Western Switzerland Academic Institutions pitched in front of the audience. Artiria Medical and Reverso Therapeutics won the Best Startup Award and the Best Academic Project Award. Each prize includes a CHF 5,000 award to support the continued development and growth of their groundbreaking innovations.

Best Startup Award – Artiria Medical (EPFL Innovation Park – Wyss Center) – Sponsored by Lenz & Staehelin

Presented by: Guillaume Petit Pierre

Artiria Medical is redefining stroke intervention with its robotic neurovascular access system, a next-generation device akin to a self-driving car for the brain. Designed to assist rather than replace surgeons, the system significantly reduces complexity and time required in stroke treatment—one of the most urgent global medical challenges, affecting 16 million people annually.
The device features an atraumatic, articulated tip, wireless control, and real-time reshaping, enhancing precision, reducing training time, and improving overall accessibility of care. Artiria’s technology has the potential to make advanced stroke treatment safer and more widely available.

Best Academic Project – Reverso Therapeutics (University of Geneva) – Sponsored by Unitec and PACTT

Presented by: Millicent Dockerill

Reverso Therapeutics is tackling a major unmet need in cardiovascular medicine with the development of a new class of reversible anticoagulants. Inspired by molecules found in blood-sucking insects, their therapy combines safety, reversibility, and convenience.
Their innovation allows patients to self-administer an injectable anticoagulant that can be rapidly reversed in case of bleeding—a major limitation of current therapies. The solution, which can be stored at room temperature, enables safe and effective dosing both in clinics and at home. Already showing promising results in preclinical trials (Nature Biotech, 2024), Reverso has the potential to transform anticoagulation care for millions.

About BIND-BioInnovation Day

BioInnovation Day 2025 brought together the brightest minds and most promising technologies in the Swiss health ecosystem for a day of connection, collaboration, and celebration. Held at Campus Biotech in Geneva, this flagship event gathered over 250 participants, including key stakeholders from the Swiss Health Valley: innovators, researchers, startups, industry leaders, support organizations, and investors all under one roof.
The energy was palpable as 29 groundbreaking projects took the stage to pitch their innovations across five major domains: Biotech, Medtech, Pharma, Biotools, and Digital Health. The quality of pitches and the boldness of visions presented confirmed what we already knew—Switzerland is a global hotspot for health innovation. The jury was formed by Wilma Lukas (FONGIT | Innosuisse), Olivier Deloche (UNITEC), Alberto Schena (PACTT), François Capel (Innovaud), Sevan Antreasyan (Lenz & Staehelin).

Congratulations to all participants, speakers, and especially to our two award winners. The journey continues, and we look forward to seeing these innovations reach patients and markets around the world!
