Intuitive, a pioneer of robotic-assisted surgery, has expanded its European headquarters in Aubonne, now employing over 250 people.
Founded in 1995 in California (USA), Intuitive is the manufacturer of the da Vinci surgical system, a minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgical platform, which has been used by skilled surgeons worldwide for more than two decades. More than fourteen million robotic-assisted surgical procedures have been performed globally using the da Vinci system.
From its international headquarters in Vaud, established in 2007, the company has managed its development in Switzerland and across Europe, where it now employs over 1,300 people.
The Swiss team has grown from around 50 employees in 2007 to more than 250 today, making Aubonne one of the fastest-growing administrative centres globally for Intuitive. The European headquarters houses various functions, including research and development, human resources, training, finance, sales, marketing, legal, quality, regulatory and clinical affairs departments.
“Switzerland, particularly the canton of Vaud, provides an excellent platform for Intuitive, thanks to one of the world’s best healthcare ecosystems, a strong culture of innovation, and a dynamic and high-quality job market,” said Michel Pedrazzini, Sr. Director, Europe Finance & Sales Operations and head of Intuitive’s Aubonne site.
Energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and employee well-being are integral to Intuitive’s Aubonne campus, which now includes more than 7,000 square meters of office space across three buildings. The largest of these, newly constructed, was inaugurated yesterday.
“The quality of the work environment is a priority for Intuitive and a crucial factor in attracting and retaining talent. We have invested significantly in creating a fulfilling place to work for our employees,” Pedrazzini emphasized.
With this expansion and the construction of the third building, Intuitive has reached a new milestone in its development in Aubonne.
