Eight project leaders have been selected from 35 applications from French-speaking Switzerland, Ticino, France and even Lebanon. The goals of this first edition of the SMART Challenge, organised by SMART Confluence in Valais, are to get people moving in their daily lives and to transform existing spaces into places for physical activity.
Here are the selected projects:
- MoveMeet transforms business meetings into opportunities for physical activity, thanks to tailored formats and AI-assisted transcription tools.
- Moving ToGETHER creates walking routes accessible to all in the heart of local communities to naturally integrate physical activity into daily life and encourage social interaction.
- Vibra is an app that mobilises local communities around fun, collective challenges to encourage regular exercise.
- Afterclub offers events combining physical activity, music and socialising for a more social and accessible approach to sport.
- Wandertale is an immersive app that turns walking into an adventure through interactive audio stories that evolve as the user moves.
- Movement Snack connects colleagues who are available at the same time to share short active breaks and strengthen workplace bonds.
- Your local council’s Sport and Health Outing promotes public spaces through collaborative, intergenerational sporting activities.
- La Maison du Mouvement combines adapted physical activity with therapeutic education to support sedentary individuals and those with chronic conditions in adopting a sustainable active lifestyle.
The projects were assessed by a jury comprising representatives from Promotion Santé Valais, the Cantonal Sports Office, the Centre du Mouvement in La Tour Valais, HES-SO Valais, bloomUp, BoxUp and CimArk SA, with the participation of the partner municipalities of Sion, Sierre, Monthey, Ayent, Troistorrents, Conthey and Nendaz.
The initiatives selected from among the eight finalists will benefit from personalised support, access to a network of experts and partners, as well as financial support of up to CHF 20,000 to test their solution in practice.
