Apply before 1 September 2026 for the Egon Naef Foundation for In Vitro Research’s Research Award
The Egon Naef Foundation for In Vitro Research’s Research Award for Alternative Methods aims to contribute to a significant reduction in the number of laboratory animals.
The E. Naef Foundation was established in 1998 with the aim of encouraging and rewarding researchers who develop alternative methods to animal experimentation and new viable approaches. Each year, one or two researchers may receive a grant of CHF 10,000 each.
Applications (in French or English; comprising a curriculum vitae, a description of work carried out (max. 5 pages), a project proposal (max. 5 pages) and a covering letter) must be submitted each year by 1 September.
Applications must demonstrate how animal experiments can be replaced or reduced by the methods developed. The application must include details regarding the number of animals that can be replaced by the method developed, the levels of suffering involved, and the frequency of experiments to be reduced or replaced.
