Lonza & Moderna partner to produce COVID-19 vaccine

Lonza | A key player in the COVID-19 vaccine production

Lonza, the Valais-based company, has signed a 10 year deal to support Moderna Therapeutics in the production of the new COVID-19 vaccine using the mRNA technology.

While the trials still prove to be successful, Lonza has confirmed its ability to produce hundreds of millions of doses as of this year. Results of phase I clinical trial are promising although they need to be evaluated cautiously. Lonza’s support helps Moderna guarantee the provision of vaccines once the serum has been validated.
