Three Innovative Geneva start-ups Secure FIF financing to drive technological advances in Life Sciences, Virtual Reality for Medical Education and Cleantech
The selected companies, Adoram Therapeutics, Dyneo Technologies and ex vivo, have received a combined total of 250,000 CHF in FIF funding, including Seed Loans and Grants, to advance their groundbreaking technologies and solutions.
The awarded projects reflect Geneva’s strong ecosystem for fostering innovation in high-potential industries. Each project will benefit from funding to propel their products to the next stage of development.
100,000 seed loan awarded to Adoram Therapeutics: a breakthrough in drug discovery
Adoram Therapeutics, a Life Sciences spin-off from the University of Geneva (UNIGE), has secured a 100,000 CHF FIF Seed Loan to advance its drug discovery platform. The company’s proprietary allosteric approach promises to improve drug efficacy and reduce toxicity, with initial applications in immuno-oncology and autoimmune diseases. With a strong scientific foundation and a solid UNIGE team, Adoram Therapeutics is attracting interest from several pharmaceutical companies, which are keen to explore partnerships and potential mergers or acquisitions following the launch of clinical trials. Hesham Hamed leads the team.
50,000 CHF FIF Grant awarded to ex vivo: using Virtual Reality for medical education and assessment
ex vivo, a Life Sciences project led by Oliver Alan Kannape from the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG), and also supported by the Swiss Foundation For Innovation And Training In Surgery (SFITS), received a 50,000 CHF FIF Grant to finalize the development (including AI) of a Virtual Reality tool for medical students. This VR solution allows students to simulate their final year Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) in a fully immersive environment. Students can practice patient consultations and diagnosis, while professors can assess their performance. The innovation eliminates the need for actors and large resources currently required for OSCE exams, significantly enhancing the learning experience.
100,000 seed loan awarded to Dyneo Technologies: reducing energy losses in central heating systems
Dyneo Technologies, an ICT and Cleantech startup, received a 100,000 CHF FIF Seed Loan for their innovative IT tools designed for operators of district heating systems. Their software solution aims to reduce thermal losses in the network, decarbonize energy use, and minimize operational costs, addressing key challenges in energy efficiency. Dyneo Technologies is led by co-founders Maël Perret and Max Carrel.
