The Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (ASSM) announces the opening of nominations for the Robert Bing Prize, one of Switzerland’s most prestigious distinctions in neuroscience. Apply before 9 March 2026.
Funded by a bequest from Basel neurologist Robert Bing (1878–1956), the prize honours researchers whose exceptional work has significantly advanced the diagnosis, treatment, or cure of neurological diseases.
Eligibility
Early- to mid-career researchers (≤ 45 years old, with possible exceptions for family reasons) working in:
• Fundamental neuroscience
• Translational neuroscience
• Clinical neuroscience
Candidates must be Swiss nationals or have worked in Switzerland for several years, and their research must be:
✔️ Scientifically outstanding
✔️ Original and innovative
✔️ Directly impactful for improving neurological care
Prize amount
Awarded every two years:
• CHF 50,000 for a single laureate
• CHF 30,000 each if two laureates are selected
