The Swiss Personalised Health Networking is introducing the SPHN Data Exploration and Analysis System (DEAS), powered by EPFL Spin-off Tune Insight. HUG, CHUV and several swiss hospitals are also part of the project.

The Swiss Personalised Health Network (SPHN) is enhancing data query capabilities with the Data Exploration and Analysis System (DEAS), a robust upgrade to the existing Federated Query System (FQS). Currently piloted at Swiss university hospitals (Geneva University Hospitals (HUG), Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV), Inselspital (INSEL), etc.), and developed in partnership with EPFL spin-off Tune Insight, DEAS will provide researchers with secure, aggregated access to comprehensive hospital data, supporting hypothesis generation and advanced data exploration.

DEAS expands on FQS by including all data defined in the SPHN Schema, enabling detailed feasibility queries and introducing advanced features like Value Distributions (to analyse parameter distributions) and Survival Curves (to track cohort outcomes over time). Developed alongside Swiss university hospitals and technology partner Tune Insight, DEAS upholds strict privacy protocols, with features like homomorphic encryption, data obfuscation, and suppression of small patient groups.

Launching in 2025, DEAS will replace FQS, marking a significant step toward personalised health research by empowering secure, data-driven insights across Switzerland. The current Federated Query System will be discontinued.
