The scholarships are intended to support young doctors who have a medical or surgical research project or a specific training programme. The Foundation’s support is provided in addition to one or more established grant.

The Anna & André Livio-Glauser Foundation was created in 2018, when its founders, Mrs Monique Livio and her husband, Honorary Professor Jean-Jacques Livio, decided to support young doctors in French-speaking Switzerland. This was in memory of, and in recognition and tribute to, Mrs Anna and Mr André Livio-Glauser, Mrs Elise Livio and Mr Louis-Ulysse Glauser. The Foundation primarily supports young doctors, rather than specific research projects. Its financial support capacity amounts to approximately 80,000 to 100,000 Swiss francs annually, distributed among approximately 6 to 8 people, meaning individual assistance of approximately 5,000 to 20,000 Swiss francs.

The Foundation also supports deserving students/young doctors at the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne by awarding prizes for excellence. In memory and recognition of its founders, the Foundation also supports pupils at public schools in Mont-sur-Lausanne by awarding merit prizes.
