The Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB) latest activity report sets out how SIB contributes to Switzerland’s influence in the life sciences, from fighting diseases or supporting innovation to promoting scientific excellence and open science.
This year’s report focuses on two themes: the revolution that generative artificial intelligence is bringing to life science research, and how scientists are using and improving these new technologies to make them more reliable and ethical.
The report also explores the role of bioinformatics in the much-needed global approach to health, integrating human, animal and environmental health, the so-called One Health concept.
Building on their key contributions to the fight against COVID-19, SIB is informing public health decisions and supporting biomedical research at large.
