The Foundation for Technological Innovation offers grants and loans to support the development of innovative technological projects at various stages of their evolution.
FIT supports projects in the fields of energy & environment, precision industries, nutrition & food technologies, life sciences & health, and information & digital technologies. Since 1994, more than 350 grants and loan have been attributed, for an amount of CHF 68 Million. 5,700 jobs have been created. Support starts at CHF 10,000 and can reach CHF 500,000 per project, depending on the technology and the development stage of the company.
FIT TECH
The aim of the FIT Tech program is to support entrepreneurs developing technological projects in the Canton of Vaud and the French-speaking part of Switzerland, based on a technological innovation that is difficult to imitate and has strong growth potential. This is the historical core of the Foundation for Technological Innovation.
With grants and loans, FIT Tech aims to identify and support promising start-ups, particularly those from colleges and universities in Vaud and the French-speaking part of Switzerland.
For entrepreneurs, the FIT Tech program offers three stages of support: a grant of CHF 100,000 to validate their scientific research project, then a Seed loan of CHF 100,000 to develop their product technically and commercially, and finally a Growth loan of up to CHF 500,000 to accelerate marketing.
FIT DIGITAL
The FIT Digital program aims to support entrepreneurs based in the Canton of Vaud who are developing projects with an innovative business model, based on digital technology, difficult to imitate and with strong growth potential.
This tool has been designed to identify not only promising digital startups, but also the talented entrepreneurs who will be responsible for creating the jobs of tomorrow.
FIT Digital also relies on three stages of support: a grant of CHF 20’000, a Seed loan of CHF 50’000 and a Growth loan of up to CHF 200’000.
FIT IMPACT
The FIT Impact program is aimed at young projects active in impact entrepreneurship. Deployed in collaboration with the Hautes Ecoles and Universities of Vaud, this program awards grants of between CHF 10,000 and CHF 20,000 to projects with a strong social and environmental impact.
This tool has been designed to support promising low-tech projects with a strong social and environmental impact. Unlike FIT Tech and FIT Digital, it does not require a technological or digital dimension.
VERTICAL FOOD & HOSPITALITY
The Vertical Food & Hospitality program is designed to offer specific support to start-ups active in the nutrition and hospitality sectors.
Divided into two distinct programs, the Vertical Food & Hospitality offers specific support for digital start-ups – Food & Hospitality by EHL – as well as the FIT Food Tech launched in association with Nestlé, designed to encourage collaboration and investment between companies in the food industry and start-ups in the local innovation ecosystem.
