The eyeWatch system is the world’s first adjustable system for treating glaucoma
The first patient in Valais has benefited from an innovative device for the treatment of glaucoma, the eyeWatch. This new technology was developed by the Swiss ophthalmology network Swiss Visio, in collaboration with the EPFL and Rheon Medical. The eyeWatch device is the core of the non-invasively adjustable glaucoma drainage device. By selectively compressing the drainage tube by means of a rotatable magnetic disk, the fluidic resistance can be adjusted to maintain intraocular pressure (IOP) within the optimal clinical-targeted range.
